The Fort Container Park Still Preps for Opening

Spanish Fort, Ala. (January 16, 2019) – The Fort Container Park, located at Spanish Fort Town Center, will not be opening to the public on Friday, January 18, 2019.

“The Fort is not quite ready for guests,” states Jake Szczepanski, managing director of Cypress Equities, the developer of Spanish Fort Town Center and the representative leading the development of The Fort.  “Great progress in construction has been accomplished over recent weeks, but the individual operators need more time to put finishing touches on the containers before they are ready to professionally attend to patrons.  But we promise, as the old adage goes, good things come to those that wait.”

The Fort will be a vibrant food and beverage container park, building upon the latest wave of sustainable experiential retail, inclusive of community, culture and surroundings.  It will feature a configuration of approximately ten repurposed shipping containers that have been transformed into individually operated and functioning retail and restaurant spaces.  Each exudes a rejuvenated, rustic identity.  The Fort operators will share a common open-air environment where patrons sit, dine and enjoy themselves.

The Fort will be home to a number of eclectic eateries featuring an assortment of foods and treats, plus craft brews, wine and cocktails, as well as an adjacent performance space.  Slated to operate within The Fort are:

  • Beakers Coffee/Sno Biz
  • Bleus Burger
  • Deuce Coop
  • Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
  • Dragonfly Taco Bar
  • Happy Pizza
  • Soul Bowlz
  • Tap Station

Complete descriptions of the operators may be found at

“Once we have confirmation of a firm opening date, our team will alert the media and announce the details via Spanish Fort Town Center’s website, as well as posts to the town center’s and The Fort’s social media outlets,” added Szczepanski.
